Are Sukin Products Safe While Breastfeeding?

All Sukin products have been formulated and evaluated for safety and compatibility before a product is introduced. All products sold by Sukin are considered safe for use by female consumers of child-bearing potential and by pregnant women. Also, for women breastfeeding their babies.

We do not recommend using products on the breast area directly before breastfeeding to avoid ingestion of the product by the baby. Our products are not designed to be ingested orally.

Are any of the Sukin products gluten-free or nut free?

We have a number of products that are gluten and nut free in our range. Please use the contact form below so that we can provide a full list.

Note that all of our products are produced on machinery that also produce products that are not gluten or nut free, and as such cross contamination of gluten or nut traces cannot be prevented.

Does Sukin do samples of their products?

Unfortunately we don’t often make samples of our products. We do occasionally have some available so if you are after a specific product or have any allergies/concerns you are worried about please get in touch and we will do our best to help.

We are a vegan and cruelty free company. As a 100% vegan brand, we refrain from use of animal derivatives such as lanolin as well as animal by-products like honey and bees wax. Sukin is a certified 100% cruelty free company, committed to creating products that are free from animal testing, animal derivatives, and animal by-products. How is your Rosehip Oil Certified Organic and is it cold pressed?

Our Rosehip Oil is certified by ACO Certification Ltd (formally Australian Certified Organic). It is cold pressed.

My Rosehip Oil doesn’t smell like roses, why is that?

Sukin Certified Organic Rosehip Oil is obtained by cold pressing the seed of the rose hip. This part of the plant does not have a ‘rosy’ flower smell, but results in a nutty odour.

Do any of your Products contains SPF?

We are in constant pursuit of a safe, natural, pleasant to use and effective SPF and hope to have a solution in the near future.

Does Sukin have refill facilities?

We have looked at our customers being able to return their bottles and having them refilled. As we are a Carbon Neutral brand, we must consider the immeasurable impact of having bottles sent back and refilled and the additional strain on resources this would cause. Having refill stations in store poses the risk of product contamination and sanitation issues and therefore is not an option. All bottles and jars, are recyclable and we encourage you to reuse and recycle as much as possible.

Can I export your products overseas and how do I go about this?

We receive many export enquiries each week, so we require that you first make contact via email with full details of your distribution company, capabilities and proposal. Providing more information will be beneficial to your request. Please note that only successful enquiries will receive a response and no time frame can be guaranteed.

Does Sukin offer sponsorships or donations for charity events?

We are unable to offer any monetary sponsorships but can offer product donations or hampers. If you are interested in product donation, please send an email to info@sukinnaturals.com with as many details of your event as possible. We do our best to reply to all sponsorship and donation requests, but please understand we do receive a large amount of contact on this and whilst we always help where we can, sponsorship is not guaranteed.

What makes up the fragrances used in Sukin products?

Sukin products are fragranced with Essential Oils and Plant Derived Aromatic Ingredients

Do you use Palm Oil in your product?

Sukin prides itself on is commitment to the environment and all the creatures that inhabit it. We are very conscious of the part that we play in the implication of using palm derived ingredients in our products.

Sukin does not use Palm Oil, but has some Palm Derived ingredients in its formulations, we ensure that all Palm derived ingredients in Sukin products contain Sustainable Palm Oil sourced from suppliers who are actively working to ensure sustainable agricultural practices, and to secure the habitat of Orangutans.

We have considered moving away from Palm Derived ingredients all together, but the unfortunate reality is that alternative ingredients (such as Coconut Oil) have a far lower yield than Palm, resulting in up to 3 times more trees needing to be cleared for the same yield.

Therefore, it is our view that the best way forward is not to demonize palm derived ingredients, as this will only serve to push the demand onto less efficient sources of the ingredient, and that sourcing palm derived ingredients from sustainable RSPO – (Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil) suppliers results in the lowest net impact on the environment. The RSPO is an organisation that certifies suppliers based on their level of sustainability and traceability via a thorough auditing process. This ensures that the ingredient is being farmed with low impact to the environment, with reforestation and habitat protections initiatives in place.

Do you use Phenoxyethanol in your products?

We use Phenoxyethanol as a preservative system in some of our products, this is done to ensure that our products are 100% safe for use. We include this ingredient (always at less than 1%) to make sure that no bacteria, fungus or mold gets into our products and negatively affects your skin.

We are always on the lookout for new, innovative natural ingredients to use in our products, but unfortunately, all currently available natural preservative systems that we have trialled have resulted in a product that expires after 3-6 months (and needs to be kept refrigerated), a product that needs high amounts of preservative and could have less of the skin caring ingredients, or a product with a much higher price than what we currently offer (Natural preservative systems can be very expensive).

Until a natural preservative becomes available that meets our strict safety standards, while also keeping our product effective and affordable, we will use Phenoxyethanol at low levels to give you peace of mind that Sukin products are safe for your use.

How and where do I store my Sukin products?

Do you sell your products in China?

We currently only sell our products online in China. We choose not to sell to physical stores due to China’s animal testing policies. Selling products online does not require compliance with China’s animal testing regime. We will never consider selling in physical stores in China until they change their policies around animal testing.
